Pick up a pumpkin Oct. 10 at the future home of the Oswego Entertainment Venue

It’s autumn in Oswego! Celebrate fall by decorating your front porch with a free pumpkin, courtesy of the Village of Oswego and our partners Allied First Bank, Byline Bank, First Midwest Bank, and Old Second National Bank.

Residents can stop by the site of the future Oswego Entertainment Venue on Station Drive to pick up their free pumpkin between noon and 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10. Children are encouraged to come in costume.

The future Oswego Entertainment Venue is coming soon to the 1000 block of Station Drive, near the Park N Ride parking lot. For pumpkin pick-up, head to the Park N Ride lot. Staff and volunteers will be there to greet and direct you.

Five-hundred pumpkins are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Open to Oswego residents.

Public health precautions remain in effect. Staff and volunteers will be observing guidelines from state and local health authorities, including distancing and face masks. Residents are asked to wear a face masks when interacting with staff and volunteers. 

 

Join in on an Oswego scavenger hunt

Autumn in Oswego is filled with crunchy golden leaves, the scent of pumpkin spice from your favorite local shops, and fun for ghosts and goblins of all ages. Get outside and have some fall fun with our Community Drive-Around Scavenger Hunt – and benefit a great cause, too!

The Community Drive-Around Scavenger Hunt will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17. This family-friendly event offers a chance for your ghosts and goblins to dress up, decorate the car, and explore the Oswego community by car. Form a team from members of your household, and drive through town following clues and snapping photos of your family with Halloween props. Up to $100 in gift certificates will be awarded.  Registration is $20 in advance at $25 at the door, and net proceeds from the event benefit the Kendall County Food Pantry.
