NOW OPEN

Route 34

  • Daiso opened a new 9,700 SF retail store at 3040 Route 34 next door to T.J. Maxx in the Oswego Commons shopping center in February 2025.
  • School of Rock most recently opened at 1680 Douglas Road in January 2025 after completing a substantial buildout in the space next to Hallmark in the Gerry Centennial Plaza.
  • Smart Beginnings Academy opened a new early education center in January 2025 in the former 11,000 SF Chesterbrook Academy space at 750 5th Street. 
  • Bibibop Asian Grill opened in a new multi-tenant shopping center which was converted from a former West Suburban Bank building located between Chili’s and IHOP. Bibibop is the newest tenant which opened in August 2024.
  • Sherwin-Williams opened in the same multi-tenant shopping center converted from the former West Suburban Bank building located between Chili’s and IHOP. Sherwin-Williams was the first tenant which opened around July 2024.
  • Barnes & Noble opened in June 2024 in the Prairie Market shopping center after relocating from Naperville to the vacant DSW space (16K SF) next to Best Buy.
  • Vasa Fitness opened in May 2024 in the Oswego Commons shopping center after completing around $4 million in renovations to the 65K SF vacant Dominick’s space.

Orchard Road

  • Neat Kitchen + Bar opened a new full-service restaurant and bar in the shopping center at the northwest corner of Mill and Orchard in October 2024.
  • Beef Shack opened in January 2024 in an outlot northwest of Jewel.

Downtown

  • Nash Vegas Saloon most recently opened in the former 6,200 SF Oswego Brewing Company space in July 2024 after completing a substantial buildout for a new restaurant and live entertainment venue.
  • Paws on Main, an independent pet supply retailer, opened in the former Bentley’s Pet Stuff space in March 2024.

Coming Soon

Route 34

  • Nori Sushi will soon be adding a new Japanese-inspired restaurant in an outlot of the Gerry Centennial Plaza near Starbucks. They recently started their buildout and expect to open later this year sometime in early 2025.
  • Candy Cloud will be the third and final tenant in the multi-tenant shopping center converted from the former West Suburban bank building. Candy Cloud is a specialty café which services boba tea, blended drinks, and other assorted beverages. They recently submitted their buildout permits and expect to open later this year in early-to-mid 2025.
  • Skechers recently signed a lease in the 13,000 SF former Petco space at the Oswego Commons shopping center. The Village is still waiting on permits plans, but the business is still expected to open in mid-to-late 2025.
  • HomeGoodsA major PUD was recommended for approval by the village’s Planning & Zoning Commission for a buildout of the former Lowe’s garden center next to Hobby Lobby. The village is now awaiting additional permit plans before the PUD goes to the full Village Board for final consideration. Depending on when plans are received, work could start as early as Spring 2025 ahead of a late 2025/early 2026 grand opening.

Orchard Road

  • Gas N Wash is under construction on a new fueling station and QSR development at the northeast corner of Mill and Orchard roads. They have completed site work and started vertical construction ahead of an anticipated opening date of mid-to-late 2025.
  • Breybourne Cricket Stadium – First phase of the proposed cricket stadium project was originally expected to earlier this Spring with the construction of the cricket pitch and field along with underground drainage work. However, the project has since been delayed due to pending environmental review by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for the 9.5 acres of wetlands on the site. The developer hopes to get approval by the end of 2024 and then start construction in Spring 2025 with a completion date TBD.

Downtown Area

  • The Brant at Oswego Senior Living is under construction just north of Village Hall for mix of 142 independent, assisted living, and memory care residential units. They expect to complete construction in Spring 2025.
  • Dunkin Donuts is under contract to purchase two properties at the eastern intersection of Route 71 and Washington Street. Their entitlements and redevelopment agreement were approved by the Village Board on August 20 to build an 800 SF drive-thru-only coffee shop by the end of 2025.
