NEW BUSINESSES

Catalyzed by high traffic counts and substantial residential development, the premier Route 34 commercial corridor continues to experience significant investment.  The following companies have most recently opened its doors:

  • Crumbl Cookies opened in October 2025 after completing a substantial buildout of its space at 1530 Douglas Road located near Buffalo Wild Wings and OrangeTheory Fitness.

  • Skechers is now open in the 13,000 SF former Petco space at the Oswego Commons shopping center. The new shoe retailer hosted a grand opening event in August 2025 to celebrate the new store.

  • Nori Sushi is a new Japanese-inspired restaurant located in an outlot of the Gerry Centennial Plaza near Starbucks. After completing a significant restaurant buildout, they opened in July 2025.
  • Candy Cloud is a specialty café which serves boba tea, blended drinks, and other assorted beverages. They hosted a grand opening event in July 2025 after completing its substantial buildout in the former West Suburban Bank building. 
  • Daiso USA opened a 9,700 SF retail store next door to T.J. Maxx in the Oswego Commons shopping center in February 2025
  • School of Rock opened a new music school next to Hallmark in the Gerry Centennial Plaza in January 2025.
  • Barnes & Noble opened a 16,000 SF retail storefront next to Best Buy in the Prairie Market shopping center in June 2024.
  • Bibibop Asian Grill and a Sherwin Williams Paint Store are now both open in a new retail center converted from an old bank in an outlot of the Oswego Commons shopping center.  Bibibop is the newest tenant which opened in August 2024.
  • Vasa Fitness opened a 65,000 SF gym space next to Target in the Oswego Commons shopping center in May 2024.
COMING SOON

Several additional businesses will soon be joining the Route 34 corridor in 2025 and beyond:

  • Benderson Development is under construction on a grocery anchored retail project which was approved by the Village Board in February 2025. The name of the grocery tenant is still to be announced, but once the project is completed, it will feature a 12,500 SF grocer and 10,000 SF of additional retail space. Site work is currently ongoing with a completion date TBD
INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES

A limited number of vacancies and land sites still remain along Route 34, but are not expected to last long.  These are prime investment opportunities for retail, hospitality, restaurant, and residential projects.
