Public Works Technician - Utilities

The Village of Oswego is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Utilities Technician in the Public Works Department.

The salary range for this position is $59,222 to $81,638 annually in accordance with the Local 150 collective bargaining agreement. Additional compensation available with valid water license.

This position is generally responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of the Village's water system, including water meters, mains and wells; and the sanitary sewer system including lift stations. This position also performs snow removal from public streets.

A high school diploma or equivalent, and 1 to 3 years of work experience in the construction trade or related experience are required.  Candidates must also possess a valid Class A CDL with air brake endorsement or the ability to obtain one within six months of employment. A valid IEPA Drinking Water Operator Class C (or B) license is strongly preferred.  Previous work experience with a government agency or public utility is preferred.
