All refuse, recycling and yard waste will be collected by Allied Waste Services. Materials should be placed at the curb prior to 6:00 a.m. on collection day. Garbage containers should not be any larger than 33 gallons and cannot weigh more than 50 pounds. Please do not place garbage in boxes.
Allied Waste will pick-up an unlimited amount of refuse, recyclables and bulk items. Bulk items include sofas, chairs, carpet (in 4-foot bundles). One appliance (washer, dryer, stove, refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, water heater, water softener) will be picked up free each month. The only items needing stickers are the 30-gallon kraft yard waste bags.
Paint cans are only accepted if empty or dry. Kitty litter or oil dry can be used to dry up unused paint.
Collection will not be provided on the following holidays:
- New Years Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
In the event that collection day falls on a holiday, collection will be provided one day later. This also applies for the rest of the days that week (if the holiday is on Tuesday, Monday’s collection will remain on Monday and then all the rest will be one day later).
Refuse, recycling and yard waste are collected by different trucks on different routes. Appliances will be picked up at the end of the day when all refuse is picked up.
If your home is missed, please contact Public Works at 554-3242 before noon the following day.
One Allied Waste recycling toter is provided to each residence. Residents who also have the small blue bins may use those bins as an overflow container for recycling only. Allied Waste will only pick up the blue bin if the toter is also out at the curb and is full.
Any questions regarding pick-up should be directed to the Public Works Department at
630-554-3242.
