Oswego to host rain-date fireworks on Thursday, July 5
Following Wednesday night’s weather cancellation, the Village of Oswego plans to celebrate the Fourth of July with fireworks tonight, Thursday, July 5.
Fireworks will be launched from Prairie Point Park at approximately 9:30 p.m., weather permitting.
Staff is monitoring the weather, and scattered storms are predicted for the afternoon, followed by a slight chance of severe weather predicted for this evening. In the event of a second rain-out, the cancelation notice will be posted on the Village’s website, www.oswegoil.org, and on Facebook, @VillageofOswego, and Twitter, @OswegoIL60543.
Residents are also advised to check weather conditions before heading to the park and to follow the instructions of emergency personnel in the event of cancellation and evacuation.
Parking is available at the following locations: Prairie Point Park, Oswego High School, the Village of Oswego Public Works Facility, and East View Academy. Portable restrooms will be available at Prairie Point Park. No alcoholic beverages are permitted.
