Wine on the Fox returns May 5 and 6 to Hudson Crossing Park

Expanded wine offerings, Illinois favorites and tiered selections offer wine-lovers more options for sipping, supporting Oswego community

OSWEGO, ILL. – Chicagoland’s premiere wine event of the spring returns this weekend, Saturday, May 5, and Sunday, May 6, to Hudson Crossing Park in downtown Oswego.

Wine on the Fox, presented by John Greene Realtor, welcomes wineries from across the state to showcase Illinois varietals as well as intriguing selections from the Midwest, California, and around the globe.

Bring the friends and sip under the trees of idyllic Hudson Crossing Park on the banks of the Fox River while listening to favorites like Junkyard Groove, and the Gina Glocksen Band, breakout artist Althea Grace, Chicago blues collective The Hurricane Project and more. Plus check out the second stage for entertainment from local Oswego artists, courtesy of the Fox River Academy.

Bring your own food pairings, or sample from a variety of the area’s best food trucks, including Toasty Cheese, The Crave Bar, Pizza Cucina and Wurst Kitchen, plus a variety of Italian and other offerings.

“We think we’ve got a very special event here that is totally unique,” said Community Engagement Coordinator Julie Hoffman. “The diversity of wine offerings, live music, and the ambiance of the park right on the river’s edge, even with a playground, makes for an amazing family-friendly event that really is just the perfect way to get out, mingle with friends and neighbors and just kick off the whole outdoor event season.”

Wine packages start at just $15 and include a commemorative Wine on the Fox glass, wristband, and wine tickets that can be redeemed for 1- or 5-ounce pours of more than 120 different wines.

New this year, wines are available at three different price tiers, ensuring a greater variety at all different price points. Find your new go-to table wine from among the Tier I selections, or a find a gift-worthy bottle to impress even the pickiest vinophile from among the Tier III selections.

Early Mother’s Day two-day packages are available through Saturday, and include a glass, wristband, 22 tickets to be split between Saturday and Sunday, plus a free gift chosen from downtown Oswego shops Aroma Roots, Bentley’s Pet Stuff, or The Garden Faire. Treat Mom or yourself!
