Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR)
The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the Village of Oswego for its CAFR for the most current fiscal year. State law requires that local governments undergo an annual audit of their financial statements by independent certified public financial accountants. Village of Oswego receives CAFR Award for FY 2017 Audit
The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to the Village of Oswego by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United State and Canada (GFOA) for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by the government and its management.
The CAFR is judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
The Village has received this award for 15 consecutive years (2002-2015).
